North Carolina Schools May Cut Chunk Out of U.S. History Lessons

He may be the president who governed during the Civil War, freeing the slaves, but under a new curriculum proposal for North Carolina high schools, U.S. history would begin years after President Lincoln, with the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes in 1877.

State education leaders say this may help students learn about more recent history in greater depth.
[...]
Under the proposed change, the ninth-graders would take a course called global studies, focusing in part on issues such as the environment. The 10th grade still would study civics and economics, but 11th-graders would take U.S. history only from 1877 onward.
"The answer isn't to throw out fundamental portions of U.S. history," said Mike Belter, a U.S. history teacher and social studies director. "This is not preparing our kids to have a deep historical perspective that can be used to analyze modern events for themselves."

Awakening to Zero Point - Gregg Braden

"We are going through a time of tremendous change."
With archaeological research and stunning visual evidence, Braden reveals the geophysical shifts predicted centuries ago – how the shift to "zero-point" influences our emotions, immune systems, and even our genetic code – and how each of us can use the Five Essene Tenets of Compassion to help trigger a new era for humankind. Are these the lost keys to the next phase of human evolution? Gregg Braden invites viewers to watch, listen, and decide for themselves – as he takes them on an unforgettable excursion Beyond Zero Point.

AIDS: The Greatest Deadly Lie in the History of Medicine

http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/111056-0/
Where's the AIDS? - english.pravda.ru
Mankind is facing a new threat of swine flu. A few years earlier, bird flu and SARS caused panic all over the world. AIDS has been on the top of the list of “scary” diseases for thirty years.
Where are the millions of victims of SARS and bird flu? Where is deserted Africa allegedly doomed for total extinction from AIDS? Gor Shirdel, M.D. of Irish descent who is currently practicing in Kiev, has cured two patients from AIDS.
“I don’t believe that AIDS is incurable. Weak immune system is an issue that has been around for at least 200 years. It can be solved. Viruses found in the blood of those with AIDS is not the cause of the disease, it’s a consequence of immunodeficiency.
"The world thinks AIDS is incurable because two doctors, an American Robert Gallo and a Frenchman Luc Montagnier, managed to convince the world in the early 1980s that AIDS is caused by the "human immune deficiency virus" (HIV). Montagnier even received a Nobel Prize for his “discovery.” Yet, they cannot find this virus in the human body. AIDS patients are diagnosed through the tests that register antibodies in blood, not HIV.
"These antibodies are developed in blood serum when any virus or bacteria enters the body. The same happens in case of flu, or any other illness or a shot, etc. When antibodies are found in the blood serum, it does not mean that there is a virus in the blood. Positive HIV tests shock patients because proponents of infectious AIDS convinced everyone that an HIV-positive patient will sooner or later die, and that this disease is incurable.
"I think this is the result of purposeful policy of the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention whose annual budget for combating AIDS amounts to two billion dollars.
"However, there are over six thousand outstanding doctors and scientists in the world who voice their arguments against the opinion that AIDS is incurable. They include Peter Duesberg, PhD., the author of “Inventing the AIDS Virus,” Kary Mullis, a biochemist and Nobel laureate, and Robert Willner, the author of “Deadly Deception.”

Emergence of Civilization and Fall into Patriarchal Dominion

http://www.dhushara.com/paradoxhtm/fall.htm
http://www.dhushara.com/paradoxhtm/fall/dolnip.jpg
[Dolni Vestonice, in Czech Republic, is a site of an encampment
of mammoth hunters dating from about 30,000 years ago.]

There are two sexually polarized theories of human cultural origins, both of which have failed to stand the test of empirical evidence. The first is 'man the hunter' suggesting that male strength and hunting prowess led both to male dominance, and intelligence and culture, through skills of hunting, such as tool-making.
Man the hunter theories are prone to stress male violence and treat women as mere possessions and tradeable items. While they do fit well with our cultural paradigm of male dominance, they do not well-explain the origin of intelligence, nor do they fit well with what we know of so-called primal cultures, where women bring in the majority of the diet by gathering, making them more autonomous as child-rearers than the theory would allow. As a natural successor of the 'killer-ape' theory it gives a pessimistic view of humanity's violence and viability.
The counterpoised matriarchal origin theory is the 'mother-right' proposed by Johan Jakob Bachofen - an evolutionary 'advance' in which an intervening stage of matriarchy led society out of barbarism into modern patriarchy, which he deemed the triumph of superior political and religious thought and organization, despite advocating the incorporation of the 'feminine principle' of nurturance and altruism in modern society. The Swiss philologist proposed an era of 'unregulated hetaerism' in which women were sexually degraded and defenseless, followed by an 'Amazon' revolt that inaugurated an era of matriarchy. In this stage, women created marriage to tame the male. This supposedly still-animalistic and 'backward' era was superseded by a 'higher' stage of human development: patriarchy. He never used the term matriarchy but 'mutterricht' and gynecocracy, for 'rule by women'.

http://www.crisiseconomica2010.com/Inicio/tabid/36/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/349/Hoy-Viernes-comienza-la-crisis-10-razones-para-creerlo.aspx

Where's the remotest place on Earth?

· Getting away from it all is easier said than done, as new maps of the world's connectedness reveal.
Where's the remotest place on Earth? - www.newscientist.com

Very little of the world's land can now be thought of as inaccessible, according to a new map of connectedness.
The maps are based on a model which calculated how long it would take to travel to the nearest city of 50,000 or more people by land or water.
The model combines information on terrain and access to road, rail and river networks. It also considers how factors like altitude, steepness of terrain and hold-ups like border crossings slow travel.
Plotted onto a map, the results throw up surprises. First, less than 10% of the world's land is more than 48 hours of ground-based travel from the nearest city.
What's more, many areas considered remote and inaccessible are not as far from civilisation as you might think. In the Amazon, for example, extensive river networks and an increasing number of roads mean that only 20% of the land is more than two days from a city - around the same proportion as Canada's Quebec province.

This map, entitled "The World Government", is an attempt to understand how world governance behaves, by analyzing its major contributors, from independent states, financial institutions, industrial firms, foundations, schools, universities, NGO's, international organizations, lobbyist groups, religious institutions, and others, in an endless network of influence. Dozens of icons represent each of these key players spread throughout the graph, while lines between them represent different types of ties. A special icon was created to characterize a percentage of property between elements.

The American military network ARPAnet was conceived as a way to maintain uninterrupted communications in the event of nuclear war. Ancestor of the Internet and foundation of the Global Information Infrastructure, ARPAnet springs from exactly the same source as the "push-button war" that lay behind it: the change of scale provoked by the early 20th century discoveries in physics, within an industrial society capable of organizing the productivity - including the scientific productivity - of thousands of agents.

TextArc: Revealing Word Associations, Distribution and Frequency. TextArc is a tool designed to help people discover patterns and concepts in any text by leveraging a powerful, underused resource: human visual processing. It compliments approaches such as statistical Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics by providing an overview, letting intuition help extract meaning from an unread text. Here, an analysis of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland demonstrates TextArc's structure and some capabilities.
TextArc represents the entire text as two concentric spirals on the screen: each line is drawn in a tiny (one pixel tall) font around the outside, starting at the top; then each word is drawn in a more readable size. Important typographic features, like the mouse-tail shape of a poem at about two o'clock, can be seen because the tiny lines retain their formatting. Frequently used words stand out from the background more intensely.

I have never believed that there is a secret United Nations plot to take over the US. I have never seen black helicopters hovering in the sky above Montana. But, for the first time in my life, I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible.

[...]
So, it seems, everything is in place. For the first time since homo sapiens began to doodle on cave walls, there is an argument, an opportunity and a means to make serious steps towards a world government.
[...]
The world’s most pressing political problems may indeed be international in nature, but the average citizen’s political identity remains stubbornly local. Until somebody cracks this problem, that plan for world government may have to stay locked away in a safe at the UN.

LibertyLink®, Ignite® Herbicide Tolerant - www.diagonalperiodico.net

http://www.diagonalperiodico.net/Cien-campos-secretos-de-prueba-de.html

http://www.diagonalperiodico.net/Transgenicos-un-peligro-para-la.html
MON810 - www.diagonalperiodico.net
