Welcome to the World's First Murdochracy

http://www.truthout.org/welcome-worlds-first-murdochracy57547
World's First Murdochracy - www.truthout.org
by John Pilger
Adelaide is Australia's festival city. Its arts festival is currently in swing. Polite debate, aesthetics and high-octane wine are putting the world to rights. With one exception. Adelaide is where Rupert Murdoch began his empire. The voracious trail starts here. No statue stands; his is a spectral presence, controlling the only daily newspaper, even the printing presses. Across Australia, he owns almost 70 percent of the capital city press and the only national newspaper and Sky Television and much else. Welcome to the world's first murdochracy.
What is a murdochracy? It is where the fealty and augmentation of Murdoch's editors and managers are undisguised, an inspiration to his choir on seven continents, where even his competitors sing along, and wise politicians heed the Murdochism: "What'll it be? A headline a day or a bucket of shit a day?"
[...]
Murdoch knows that little separates the main political parties in Australia, Britain and America. He plays the man. In 1972, he backed Australia's Gough Whitlam, who revealed a radical reformer, even threatening to expose America's spy bases. A furious Murdoch swung his newspapers against Whitlam with stories so outrageously skewed that rebellious journalists on The Australian burned their newspaper in the street. That has never been repeated.
[...]
In 1983, there were 50 major corporations dominating the world's media. By 2002, this had been reduced to nine. Rupert Murdoch says that eventually there will be three, including his own. If we accept this, media and information control will be the same, and we shall all be citizens of a murdochracy.

Conspiracy Theorists Are Potential "Suicide Warriors"

Is traditional main stream media dead?

A new report says that the number two source for news is not in black and white but ones and zeros. The internet has surpassed newspapers as the second most popular news source for Americans. Dana Loesch says there are many things that people can do with new media that traditional newspapers and magazines simply cannot and that is adding to their demise.

New 9/11 Probe: Americans vote for answers

A new movement to re-investigate the 9/11 attacks, is gaining pace in the U.S. With major public support, 12 towns are set to decide whether to ask the federal government for a new independent probe. RT's Marina Portnaya spoke to some of the activists, to find out why they want the case re-visited.

Are conspiracy theorists infiltrating the media? [Finally!]

· Suspicious minds question what's behind Torontonians' fascination with late-night radio rebels.

Are conspiracy theorists infiltrating the media? - www.theglobeandmail.com
by Michael Posner
Ever heard of a Haarpicane? How about a Haarpiquake?

According to conspiracy theorist Nelson Thall, the recent tragedy visited upon Haiti was no mere earthquake. It was something more sinister. In his view, High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) technology destroyed the island. Why? Because it's a pawn in the ongoing battle between what he calls the Old World Order (loosely, the Anglo-American Empire) and the New World Order (loosely, the European Union and the Vatican).

George Freund, a colleague in the city's booming conspiracy brotherhood, stops short of attributing the Haitian quake to tectonic weaponry. But he notes that the country's "potential oil and mineral wealth make [it] plum for the picking," and that a bright plasma ball (doubtless caused by a HAARP weapon) was photographed on the eve of the quake in the skies over Haiti.

Mr. Thall, a.k.a. Lenny Bloom, and Mr. Freund are just two of a growing group of Torontonians who reject the "facts" they say we're spoon-fed, in favour of more unsettling truths.

They're not alone. As British writer David Aaronovitch observes in his new book, Voodoo Histories, the Western world now lives in an age of "fashionable conspiracism," its garments feverishly promoted via Internet forums, blogs and, increasingly, mainstream media. C oast-to-Coast - a late-night radio talk show - is syndicated on more than 500 North American stations. Conspiracy culture has even infiltrated TV prime time with Conspiracy Theory, courtesy of former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura, and The Conspiracy Files from the BBC, erstwhile bastion of establishment thinking.
But conspiracy theory seems to be nowhere more fashionable than in Toronto.

If Toronto is, in fact, the urban hotbed of conspiracy theory, it may be explained by the same theory that accounts for why so many Canadian comedians were able to find success in the United States: We live close enough to the empire to understand it and critique it, but are never really part of it.

Network (Simpsons RMX)

· You Kent Always Say What You Want (S18EP22 - 05.20.2007)
The twenty-second episode of The Simpsons' eighteenth season, aired as part of the one hour season finale alongside the episode "24 Minutes". It's the 400th episode of the series.
This episode, formerly known as "The Kent State Massacre", was renamed in light of the Virginia Tech massacre, which occurred only a month before the episode was set to air.
The episode was intended to spoof increased fines by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the wake of the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction. However, a month before the episode aired, Don Imus was fired for remarks he made on the air about the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Similarly, Brockman wasn't immediately fired for his comments.
"There's no place for truth -nor bravery- in today's media"
- Lisa Simpson

"FOX deliberately runs shows that will 'earn' them huge fines, which are then funneled through the FCC straight to the Republican party. Everybody in the media knows it, but no-one has the guts to say it!"
- Kent Brockman

The Real Top Ten Stories of the Past Decade

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/01/01-0
by Robert Freeman
The media are awash with talking heads bloviating about the top stories of the last decade. The wired-in society. The growth of organic food. The new frugality. This is the ritual that reveals their true function in the culture: pacification. It's their way of signaling the masses that Bigger Thinkers are looking after things, so go back to your Wii or Survivor or Facebook reveries.
The amazing thing is how little is ever mentioned about the stories that really mattered, those that affected the very nature of our society, its institutions, and the relation of the people to their state and society.
Those stories paint a picture of danger, of a people who have lost control of their government and the corporations that own it. But you'll hear nary a word about such difficult truths from any storyteller in the conventional media.
So here, in no particular order, are my Top Ten Stories of the Naughties, the ones that really matter.
  1. The U.S. Supreme Court hijacking the 2000 presidential election.
  2. Bush knew of 9/11 long before it actually happened.
  3. Iraq was all premised on lies, yet we're still there.
  4. The Global War on Terror.
  5. The fact that 2/3 of all economic growth went to the top 1%.
  6. The Neo-Feudalization of the economy.
  7. The surrender of civil liberties.
  8. The failure of "the free market" to sustain prosperity.
  9. The collapse of the media.
  10. The meaninglessness of elections.
"It was the decade when all the institutions that they believed would protect them — the media, the courts, elected offcials, the market, messianic new leaders — in fact, betrayed them."

2009: The Year that 'Perpetual Motion' Ended

http://jibbguysblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/2009-year-that-perpetual-motion-ended.html
jibbguy - jibbguysblog.blogspot.com
by Steve Windisch - Dec, 2009
Looking back over the year 2009, we can see many important changes. Interestingly enough, the major changes soon to be related here were mostly not publicized in the Mainstream… Yet they certainly happened nonetheless. This interesting dichotomy comes from how the mainstream scientific community has viewed the topic “Free Energy”; and how their former attitudes on this subject appear to have embarrassingly painted them into a corner; from which there is no extraction without loss of face… and even worse, requiring at least tacit admission of a serious failure in the past to view the science objectively; and pursue the study of many varied energy-related technologies which could, “coincidentally” very favorably compete with the use of Coal and Oil as fuels.
They are not likely to tell us they were “wrong”, so we must point this out for ourselves. The information related here can be easily checked; and if we look at the data objectively, there is little doubt that most will come to similar conclusions. Yet the point is not to place blame; but to move forward, and get the errors and suppressions behind us… so real progress can be made in the genre of alternative energy research: Something that has not happened on this planet in a serious way (with the lone exception of “Nuclear Fission”, inextricably linked to weapons research), for over a hundred years and counting.

"Perpetual Motion Nonsense!"

Supposedly (as we were often told, anyway), “Achieving Perpetual Motion” was the “Dream” of free energy inventors for many decades. But this is not so; and has been used thousands of times as a clever lie and attack phrase to denigrate alternative energy research, by painting the inventors as “kooks” striving for something that “cannot exist” by the Sacred Laws Of Thermodynamics… used as an ad hominem epithet that has loaded psychological meaning; carefully crafted over the years to instantly give a negative connotation which allows the user to completely ignore the data and arguments, and simply “attack the messenger” to end any meaningful debate. And it has worked successfully for decades.
But the Truth of this matter is, that the vast majority of free energy inventors do not seriously disagree with the Conservation of Energy (“CoE”)… They simply believe that these laws are incomplete; and that it is possible to tap currently undefined and unseen energy in an Open System that does not adhere to these “Laws”. Considering that they were written in the 1860’s… before the advent of “Atomic Theory”, or even most of “Molecular Theory”; it would actually be absurd to expect these “Laws” to hold in all instances; knowing what we now know. Yet, this has still been the “official stance” for many years. And this “Perpetual Motion” epithet has been used many times to deflect the possibility that viable, safe, clean, and cheap energy alternatives to coal and oil do in fact exist… and that if these alternatives were properly and openly studied; the world would quickly benefit from them.
This article will show that the use of this “Perpetual Motion Nonsense” negative attack phrase as a method of denying alternative energy technologies is now over: Flat, irretrievably done and finished… forever.
Because, the Laws of Thermodynamics have conclusively been proved wrong in significant instances; and the amazing part of this is, that “quietly”, the mainstream scientific community certainly knows and accepts this fact. Yes: Amazing as it sounds to many who had no idea that such a major change has taken place; this is indeed true (as we will soon see).
Apparently the mainstream scientific community and media just forgot to tell us.
And although such a statement as “CoE is Dead” will raise many hackles, and knee-jerk shouts of derision from thousands who still hold these “Laws” to be “Immutable” (with many folks standing by them much more than they would actual religious Laws such as “The Ten Commandments”)… These cries will now come only from the uneducated, or those who disingenuously continue to deny out of fear of having to modify their world-views… in other words, there will always be those who deny, yet they are now the “Fringe”, the “Flat Earthers”… and not those they previously aimed to attack in the alternative energy community: A state of affairs that will certainly be amusing and refreshing for many folks, but not very humorous for the anti-free energy “skeptical community”; who now find themselves left adrift by the very “Science” that they claimed to adhere to.
But that is not of any real consequence. What is of major importance, is that when this sea change is carefully considered, we must come to the inevitable conclusion that:
"This Changes Everything!"

[...]
The Death of an Epithet
As the title of this article suggests, “2009” was a very important year for the destruction of the current paradigm regarding alternative energy research, and for “science” in general. Here is a list of events culminating in 2009 that ended the “Perpetual Motion Nonsense” epithet for all time to come:
  • March, 2009: "Cold Fusion" is Finally Accepted as Valid in the U.S.
  • The Los Alamos National Labs Physics Archives
  • September 2009: DARPA announces new Projects to make practical use of Casmir Effect / Zero Point Energy.
  • 2008 and 2009: Dr. Claus Turtur’s Experiments Prove the Manifestation of Zero Point Energy as Physically Measurable Mechanical Energy.
  • Blacklight Power Gains Academic Acceptance and Begins Commercial Marketing.
  • September 2009: A German Researcher shows evidence that the “Michelson-Morley Experiment” results were in Error.
Should this amazing data hold up to replication and third-party verification, this is the last nail in the “Laws of Thermodynamics” coffin, hammered down in the year 2009, ending the reign of these “immutable laws” for all time. Because an Active Aether, or what ever we want to now call it (“Dirac Sea”, “Quantum field” etc) has nothing to do with “CoE”, and is immune to these old “Laws”…that, it is very important to note, were only ever really “Theories” to begin with.

The New Information Order

· How the Internet is freeing conspiracy theories from the control imposed by traditional media.
http://www.forteantimes.com/strangedays/conspiracycorner/2485/the_new_information_order.html
http://photos.forteantimes.com/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_10/fortean_times_5014_7.jpg
In the pre-Internet age, our society had an order of information in which knowledge was managed by experts and authorities, as well as representatives of the political, legal, scientific, medical and economic powers-that-be. Academics, scientists, spokespersons for the state and the owners, producers and editors of the major media decided what was real and what was unreal, what was true and what was false. The upside of this was that an awful lot of utter nonsense did not find mainstream distribution. The downside was that some material was misclassified as unreal or false – either by error, or because of interest group pressure, ideology or group-think.
The Internet threatens all this by speeding up circulation of unofficial data and simply bypassing the official information authorities. Crucially, it enables the creation and distribution of pure speculation or outright lies without significant legal hazard.
In the pre-Internet ‘knowledge order’, the label ‘conspiracy theory’ was one of the key management tools of the powers-that-be, enabling the denigration of a political or historical proposition without it having to be falsified. In the post-1964 sections of Dr Christopher Andrew’s 1,000-page history of MI5, In Defence of the Realm (Allen Lane, 2009), Andrew, as the spokesman for MI5, repeatedly dismisses the claims of critics of the agency as “conspiracy theories”. Based on the notion of an authority being allowed to see the official records of a secret agency, to report back that all is well and that the agency’s critics are simply misinformed or conspiracy theorists, Andrew’s book looks like one of the last hurrahs of the old information order.
