Disaster Drills on Haiti Running Day Before Earthquake [!!!]

On Monday, Jean Demay, DISA's technical manager for the agency's Transnational Information Sharing Cooperation project, happened[!!!] to be at the headquarters of the U.S. Southern [Military] Command (SOUTHCOM) in Miami preparing for a test of the system in a scenario that involved providing relief to Haiti in the wake of a hurricane. After the earthquake hit on Tuesday, Demay said SOUTHCOM decided to go live with the system[...they were trying out the day before the quake!].

Jon Anderson, a DISA spokesman, said the agency is supplying 10 megabits of satellite capacity to Navy[!], Marine[!!] and Air Force[!!!] units engaged in the Haiti relief operation.

The Joint Forces Command's Joint Communications Support Element deployed two teams equipped with satellite systems and VoIP phones to support SOUTCOM in Port-au-Prince late Wednesday. Those systems were operational "in a matter of hours," said JCSE Chief of Staff Chris Wilson. The organization will send another team to Haiti in the next few days.

Wilson said JCSE was able to get its gear into Haiti quickly because the systems already were loaded on pallets in Miami in preparation for an exercise that had been canceled.[!!!!!]

Before going into the specifics of the upcoming sixth night, November 8, 2009 – November 2, 2010, of the Galactic Wave Movement (or Underworld), I feel I should clarify some of my basic points of departure for understanding the Mayan calendar, since the various ideas, that are currently proposed for this, vary significantly. There are, for instance, those that believe that the end date of the Mayan calendar only marks the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new. On my own part, I however think that we are approaching something much more profound than just a point in a cycle that again will be repeated. The only Mayan inscription from ancient times, the Tortuguero monument, which describes the end of their calendar, says that nine cosmic forces will then manifest. Empirically, there is also overwhelming evidence from modern research that we are approaching a point in time when nine evolutionary levels (so called Underworlds) of the cosmic plan are simultaneously going to be completed. This would imply that we are approaching, not another cycle or another shift, but the end to all shifts, which have been driving evolution since the beginning of the universe. Such an end to all shifts could conceivably provide the basis for a harmonious eternal peace on Earth.
What is about to transpire now is, in other words, not something that has ever happened before in the history of the universe. Maybe this impending change, partially unknown, causes the widespread denial that, I feel, dominate many people at the current moment. Rather than facing a great change in our socioeconomic relationships (since any change in human consciousness also implies a change in our relationships), many prefer to fantasize about some physical, or astronomical, event that purportedly is going to happen on December 21, 2012. In reality, the Mayan calendar is, however, not about something that will happen on a singular date, but a description of a divine plan for the evolution of humankind, where quantum shifts between calendrical energies bring about shifts in consciousness. Thus, human consciousness will continue to be transformed, step by step, in accordance with this plan, until we come to the real end date of the process of creation, October 28, 2011. At this date the highest quantum state of the universe will be attained (13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau) when the shifts disrupting the harmony will come to an end. Obviously, we are not there yet.
In this plan for the evolution of consciousness, we are now approaching the sixth night of the Galactic Wave Movement, the eighth of the nine levels, which will begin on November 8, 2009. If my understanding of the Mayan calendar is correct, we will, in this coming night, be witnessing the most significant transformation of consciousness ever in the history of mankind. What is exciting about this, is that I feel that a relatively clear picture of how a new world is going to be born is now finally becoming evident. On the other hand, what is also becoming increasingly clear, is that this birth is likely to become very demanding. For this reason, it becomes all the more important to understand how some of the difficulties ahead actually serve the delivery of this new world, even though it may not always seem that they do so in the moment. If people can gain a realistic understanding of how this new world will be born, they may be able to keep a hope for the future, which is based on something more than mere wishful thinking. Unfortunately, much confusion reigns about the Mayan calendar, and many, who present themselves as experts on this, deny the ancient Mayan knowledge that there are nine cosmic forces that are about to manifest, and that it is these, and nothing else, that explains why a new world will be born.
Thus, what will happen in the time ahead cannot be understood from the sixth night of the Galactic Underworld alone. The overlapping of the cycles preparing for the ninth, and highest, level in the cosmic evolution scheme; the Universal Wave Movement (see figure below) with the energy of this sixth night will then also need to be taken into consideration. Because of this overlapping, and the speed-up of time associated especially with the latter Wave Movement, not only do I think that the upcoming period will be unusually intense, but also energetically quite complex.

At the time of this writing (October 31, 2009, 1 Ben) we are towards the end of the sixth day, the period of flowering in the process from seed to mature fruit in the Galactic Wave Movement, which precedes the sixth night. As I predicted in an earlier article, it would now seem to some economists that the “global economic recession” (or the worst of it) is already over. There are however certain things currently going on in the world that belies this and are more in line with the prediction I made in an article in May (The Risks of Believing that the Mayan Calendar Ends December 21, 2012!) of a further economic downturn, especially expressed in a fall in the value of the US dollar, to take place around the time that the sixth night begins (see also: Carl Calleman, The Mayan Calendar and Money). While several sources now predict a dollar fall it is important to note that mine was made a relatively long time ago and if it proves to be correct shows that what is happening in the economy is part of a divine plan charted by the Mayan calendar.

[Francisco Martín practica el veganismo desde hace 40 años]

Francisco Martín es el presidente de la Asociación Vegana Española que se creó en la década de los noventa en un acto celebrado en Tossa de Mar. Asegura empezar a darse cuenta de su filosofía de vida con tan sólo 4 años de edad, y poco después ya estaba rechazando cualquier producto de origen animal. Martín indica que el veganismo es una corriente que está aumentando poco a poco en nuestro país, donde hay 4 millones de vegetarianos aunque asegura que en España "hay más jóvenes veganos que vegetarianos porque lo consideran algo ético y lo defienden como una forma de vida, ellos saben cuál es el mejor camino para salvar el planeta". Martín lleva más de 40 años practicando el veganismo y lo aconseja a todos aquellos que quieran "llevar una vida más sana sin tener que explotar a los animales". Con la asociación quieren poner el granito de arena para que la información sobre veganismo llegue a todo el país. Martín lanza para acabar un reto a todo el mundo, según él, la aplicación total del nuevo Codex Alimentarius en su totalidad puede significar el fin de la humanidad. A partir de aquí, les dejo que juzguen ustedes mismos, ahí van algunos argumentos. Por cierto, una curiosidad, la Real Academia Española de la Lengua sigue sin aceptar los términos vegano/a y veganismo.

Ustedes mantienen que un vegano tiene un estilo de vida más sano que una persona que no lo es. ¿Me explica esta teoría que no comparten los médicos?
- En principio es así por el mero hecho de excluir los productos animales. La razón básica es que el ser humano fisiológicamente y mentalmente tiene inquietudes espirituales, con lo cual no va muy bien con los mataderos ni con el consumo de otros seres vivos a los que hay que quitarles la vida para consumirlos. Todas las sociedades han establecido normas para que la muerte de los animales no sea cruenta, lo cual quiere decir que ya tenemos unas inquietudes, incluso los que son más carnívoros. Fisiológicamente no necesitamos alimentarnos de animales porque nuestro organismo responde mucho mejor y estamos hechos para consumir vegetales. Hacerlo es algo que no nos mata directamente, pero que nos va minando la salud.

¿Un vegano nace así o se hace con el tiempo?
-Todos somos potencialmente veganos, quiere decir que nacemos como veganos. Lo que pasa es que algunas personas mantenemos esa rebeldía que implicaría el rechazo de ciertos productos y otros, por determinadas circunstancias, empiezan a admitir alimentos que en un principio nos parecen inadecuados como algo lógico.

Imagino que también puede ser por tradición familiar. No sé si usted es de lo que quiere educar a su hijo para que sea vegano en un futuro…
- Los padres siempre tendemos a impartir los valores que tenemos a nuestros hijos. Hay una diferencia entre lo que hacen unos padres veganos y lo que harían unos padres carnívoros. En los padres veganos no hay incoherencia. Al enseñar a nuestros hijos que deben ser respetuosos con los animales, con el medio ambiente o la vida en general, lo que estamos haciendo es practicarlo en casa. Llega la hora de comer y a lo mejor tu hijo te dice, "oye, este niño se come una vaca", y nosotros les decimos, "sí pero nosotros no nos la comemos porque la vaca es un animal que tiene derecho a vivir y sus tejidos no son los adecuados para nosotros". Si queremos ser respetuosos con los demás no deberíamos mantener barreras artificiales. A las personas las tratamos bien, pero a los que andan a cuatro patas nos los podemos comer, explotar o hacer con ellos lo que queramos. Es ilógico.

¿Creen que privar a un niño que está creciendo de una dieta sin lácteos, huevos o carne, alimentos básicos para cualquier nutricionista, puede resultar adecuado?
-La pregunta la pondría de otra forma.

Adelante, corríjame.
-Privarle no sé si es la palabra. Si dijeras, ¿sería adecuado privar a un niño de armas automáticas? Creo que sí, que sería bueno, sobre todo si están cargadas. En principio nosotros pensamos que no es una privación sino una actuación sensata porque su organismo no está hecho para consumir esos productos. De esta forma, su sistema digestivo funcionará mucho mejor y no va a estar estreñido como les sucede a los niños que habitualmente comen carne. La salud nos viene por consumir alimentos adecuados por nuestro organismo, y nosotros somos animales básicamente fructíferos. Esa es la diferencia. Creo que estamos cometiendo errores que se van multiplicando. Cuando uno disfruta con el sufrimiento de un animal, y eso se considera una fiesta nacional, te dice mucho del tipo de sociedad que hemos construido y de cuantas cosas tendremos que cambiar para volver a recuperar nuestra humanidad que ahora mismo está en peligro de extinción.

Otros colectivos que pueden verse afectados por este tipo de dieta son las embarazadas i los deportistas. ¿Existe algún riesgo real?
-No, todo lo contrario. Yo he practicado deporte toda mi vida, he hecho carrera de fondo, y te puedo asegurar que tenemos mayor resistencia. De hecho se recomienda a los atletas que consuman productos vegetales antes de una carrera porque van a mejorar sus marcas. Y en las embarazadas no sólo no hay nada en contra sino que todo son ventajas. Las embarazadas para dar a luz tienen que tener un cuerpo muy flexible y la persona que consume vegetales dilata mucho mejor. Esa persona dará a luz sin tantos problemas.

¿No pueden tener ningún problema con la falta de hierro?
-No, en esto lo que sucede es que hay lecturas que se hacen mal. La persona que es vegana tiene menos necesidad de hierro por las características de su alimentación. Lo importante no es cuánto hierro puede utilizar tu organismo sino que sepas aprovechar la cantidad que tu organismo necesita. De hecho una persona carnívora debería comer muchos más vegetales que nosotros para contrarrestar los efectos negativos de los productos animales. Las medias verdades no se examinan y eso hace que se tengan dudas sobre algo que debería ser claro, y es que lo sano es comer aquello que no procede de los mataderos.

Aún así, siguen siendo una minoría dentro de la sociedad española. ¿Se encuentran diariamente con problemas a la hora de paliar sus necesidades en tiendas, restaurantes o eventos sociales?
-No, el mayor problema que puede encontrar una persona vegana es que no tenga la suficiente auto confianza para seguir adelante. La mayor parte de la gente no cuestiona lo que te dice el médico que, por cierto, te lo dice porque hay un interés en mantener un status quo. Si tu vas a un médico y le dices, "oiga, ¿yo podría ser vegano?" y el médico no es vegano, te va a decir que no. Y es más, si no tiene conocimientos sobre lo que significa el veganismo te puede alertar de los supuestos peligros que conllevan ser vegano. Yo llevo más de 40 años viviendo de esta manera y estoy muy sano y nunca me ha pasado nada. Y lo mismo que yo hay millones de personas que les va muy bien y no tienen que depender de las farmacias.

Si es un estilo de vida que funciona para tantos millones de personas de todo el mundo, según acaba de decir, ¿por qué cree que no es recomendado por parte del colectivo médico?
-Porque hay multinacionales que tienen unos intereses creados muy fuertes que influyen en la medicina o en el médico de cabecera para que en vez de darnos buenos consejos nos den medicinas que les reportan unos enormes beneficios. Y de ahí se pasa a que se adopten ciertas medidas esperpénticas como la de los nuevos códigos alimentarios que ahora han aparecido. El problema es que el ser humano necesita retomar su propia salud, gestionar su propia salud si quiere sobrevivir en el siglo XXI, y eso, de momento, no lo va a hacer con la ayuda de las instituciones que tratan de mantenernos en la ignorancia.

Hábleme del código alimentario que es de obligado cumplimiento desde el pasado 31 de diciembre de 2009. ¿Por qué nos lo pinta tan catastrofista y en qué medida afectará a las personas que practican el veganismo?
-Supuestamente entró en vigor el 31 de diciembre de 2009 aunque todavía no se ha podido implantar porque la gente no lo acepta y quizá no lo aceptará nunca, a no ser que nos dejemos avasallar por los intereses que lo están creando. Nosotros lo rechazamos porque las personas que han desarrollado este código están diciendo que los nutrientes, como minerales o vitaminas, son tóxicos, y los tratan como productos tóxicos, cuando realmente son las fuentes de la vida. Hay muchos conceptos ahí que afectarán a cualquier persona, sea vegetariana, vegana, o carnívora. Por ponerte un ejemplo, el código dice que todas las vacas tienen que ser tratadas con antibióticos y con hormonas. Además especifican una compañía, así que esto ya te hace tener muchas reservas sobre las intenciones verdades de este nuevo código.

Dice nuevo, pero tengo entendido que se ha ido planificando desde los años ochenta…
-Sí, así es, se ha ido desarrollando a lo largo de estos años con la intención de ponerlo en práctica este 2009. Afortunadamente, son muchos los países que luchan para que no se pueda asumir este código y nos quiten nutrientes que van a dejarnos en una situación muy frágil. Te lo digo claramente, si se aplican todas las directivas del nuevo código alimentario habrá miles de muertos en el mundo.

¿No está exagerando, creando excesivo alarmismo? Piense que todavía colea el pánico por la Gripe A…
-No, no lo es. Cualquier persona que quiera informarse sólo tiene que entrar en Google y buscar información sobre el Codex Alimentarius. Y este alarmismo no soy yo quien lo crea, lo dicen las propias instituciones que lo han apoyado, que son el papá y la mamá del código, la Organización Mundial de la Salud y La Organización para la Agricultura y la Alimentación. Ellos han hecho estas estimaciones, si se aplicara el código en su totalidad habrían 3.000 millones de muertes, lo dicen en un estudio que han hecho ellos mismos.

¿Cómo ve un vegano la sociedad alimenticia actual?
-En realidad nosotros nos seguimos considerando parte de la sociedad y lo que nos duele a veces ver cómo la gente no está lo abierta que debería estar ante hechos que son incontrovertibles. La gente en realidad no quiere sentirse mal. Y sabemos que la persona media busca la comodidad y basarse en los criterios oficiales, institucionales para vivir. Eso conlleva menos preocupaciones y nos deja más tranquilos. Pensamos que los 'expertos' nos van a sacar de nuestros apuros y nos van a dar aquello que necesitamos. Pero ahí nos equivocamos, por eso nosotros animamos a la gente no para que hagan lo que nosotros hacemos, sino a que se abran mentalmente y que vean las cosas como son. El ser humano que siga sin cuestionar lo que se está haciendo a nuestro alrededor, está poniendo en peligro el futuro de la humanidad.

-¿Existe la literatura para niños o jóvenes más allá de la literatura específica para ellos?
- Me temo que esos cortes -de edad, de género, de etnia- tienen que ver sobre todo con la explotación especializada de franjas de consumo. El resultado es la enorme hipocresía de una sociedad que se sentimentaliza en lugares separados, a determinadas horas, mientras apoya guerras o desprecia a los inmigrantes y entrega a sus niños, en una especie de sacrificio ritual, a las multinacionales capitalistas. Por lo demás, los criterios para establecer estas separaciones son errados. Si pensamos en el cine, creo que las películas de Walt Disney, como los libros de Sade, deberían estar reservadas para adultos bien preparados que pudiesen protegerse de sus hechizos corruptores. Lo que sí es claramente para adultos es el mundo; y no hay apenas adultos para gestionarlo o analizarlo.

-¿Y qué significa entretener?
- Yo diría que, asociado a la llamada industria del entretenimiento, tiene el sentido muy claro de quedarse en el camino, a medio camino. Se nos entretiene, se nos mantiene con vida -como se habla de manutención de un cuerpo o un motor- en una especie de pasillo donde no pasa nada: donde las cosas y sus imágenes se limitan a pasar delante de nuestros ojos, sin que podamos atraparlas o compartirlas.
-Si la cultura es sólo entretenimiento, ¿para qué sirve?
-El peligro está en confundir cultura con mercancías culturales, las cuales -como todas las mercancías- son la negación misma de la cosa que nombran y parecen llevar dentro. De hecho, verdadera cultura, hoy en día, sólo se produce contra el mercado, incluso cuando, a veces, es asimilada o difundida por él. Como el mercado no es puritano acepta también las cosas buenas. Pero las cosas buenas nacen siempre en otra parte. Cultura es cualquier operación orientada a reproducir el medio propiamente humano de la humanidad y por eso es más cultural una madre que cose un botón que la llamada Alta Costura.
-¿Hacia dónde va la lectura?
-No hay que equivocarse: a la lectura nunca le ha ido demasiado bien. Leer es un trabajo y ya Cicerón se quejaba de lo poco que leían los romanos cultos. Ha sido sin embargo una posibilidad maravillosa -de democratización y racionalización de la humanidad- que no llegaremos a agotar. Mucho antes de que el mundo entero esté alfabetizado y mucho antes de que sea realmente "letrado", se nos exige incorporarnos a un nuevo paradigma, el digital, del que sólo sabemos que subvierte nuestra forma de abordar la realidad, y de abordarnos a nosotros mismos.

France accuses US of 'occupying' [militarizing?] Haiti

France has accused the U.S. of occupying stricken Haiti, saying its military surge is hindering the relief effort.
The French minister in charge of humanitarian aid has asked the UN to clarify America's role in the country. He says after assuming charge of Haiti's main airport, they've been turning away emergency supplies in favor of military planes. The charity Doctors without Borders backed his call to the UN, saying lives were being put at risk. US commanders insist they agreed to give priority to aid shipments last night after UN intervention.

GM Foods NOT Served in Monsanto Cafeteria [!!!]

An old story seems to have sprouted up again in the food blogosphere [This post from stuffedandstarved.org, is dated 15 August, 2007!]. I'm not sure why it has resurfaced, but it's well worth reprinting. Here's the Associated Press version from 21st December, 1999.

Genetically modified food banned in Monsanto staff cafeteria

LONDON - Genetically modified food has been banned from the staff cafeteria at Monsanto Co.'s UK headquarters by the company's own caterer, GM food giant Monsanto confirmed Tuesday.
Granada Food Services, whose customers include Monsanto's High Wycombe office near London, recently told clients it would not supply food containing GM soya and GM maize due to customer concerns.
In a statement to clients, Granada said the move was designed "to ensure that you, the customer, can feel confident in the food we serve."
Genetic engineering involves splicing a single gene from one organism to another. GM products, including Monsanto's genetically engineered corn, have recently met with safety concerns in parts of Europe and Asia.
In October, the European Union adopted new marketing rules requiring companies to label food as genetically modified if more than one percent of the product contains GM organisms. Granada's statement said the ban also brings the company into compliance with the new regulations.
Monsanto played down the staff cafeteria policy, and denied it was an embarrassment to have a GM food ban at the head office of a company manufacturing GM crop seeds.
"We believe in choice. At our Cambridge restaurant the notice says some products may contain genetically modified organisms because our staff are happy to eat foods sprayed with fewer chemicals," said Tony Combes, Monsanto's director of corporate affairs.
Combes also pointed out that Granada's GM policy was a blanket ban covering all of its customers and did not target Monsanto specifically.
"It has nothing to do with us really," said Combes. Opponents of GM food said they believe the ban showed a lack of confidence in Monsanto, however.
"The public has made its concerns about GM ingredients very clear. Now it appears that even Monsanto's own catering firm has no confidence in this new technology," said Adrian Bebb, food campaigner at Friends of the Earth.

Since 1993 an international team of archaeologists, led by Ian Hodder, has been carrying out new excavations and research, in order to shed more light on the people that inhabited the site.

"This year we received the results of a set of AMS radiocarbon dates undertaken at the Oxford Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit. The dates were concerned with the areas excavated in 1999 and are particularly important as they cover the earliest archaeological deposits excavated so far. This produced dates centring around the period c.7,300 to 7,150 calibrated BC for the earliest known archaeological activity at the site (below). [...] We can now estimate that Çatalhöyük was occupied for between 950 and 1,150 years and that individual buildings were typically occupied for between fifty and eighty years, although it appears that they were actually of longer duration earlier on and that this decreased through time." The 9/11 Commission now tells us that the official version of 9/11 was based on false testimony and documents, and is almost entirely untrue.

The details of this massive cover-up are carefully outlined in a book by John Farmer, who was the Senior Counsel for the 9/11 Commission.
Farmer, Dean of Rutger Universities' School of Law and former Attorney General of New Jersey, was responsible for drafting the original flawed 9/11 report.
Does Farmer have cooperation and agreement from other members of the Commission? Yes. Did they say Bush ordered 9/11? No. Do they say that the 9/11 Commission was lied to by the FBI, CIA, Whitehouse and NORAD? Yes. Is there full documentary proof of this? Yes.

Heidemarie Schwermer (67) worked for many years as a psychotherapist and teacher in Dortmund, Germany. Like most people around her, she spent most of her time working and earning money in order to buy the things she needed - and things she didn’t really need. As a psychotherapist she met many who were depressed and frustrated, over-worked and with very little spare time. Among the unemployed and poor she found that they often considered themselves worthless.
Heidemarie got the idea to start an exchange circle, where people without money could trade objects and favors. Through the exchange circle people came in contact with each other in a new way. They felt useful and worthy, and also appreciated the social aspect. After a while, Heidemarie decided to do an experiment. She cancelled her flat, donated all her things to friends and started a new life based on exchanging favors – without the use of money. Her goal was to create a greater awareness of the relationship to money and consumption.
At first she stayed with friends and acquaintances, took care of their houses when they were away for holiday or journeys and in return she received food and a place to live. Over the years, she has inspired the start-up of exchange circles throughout Germany. She wrote a book about her way of life, and the word about her lifestyle has spread. Today, she has lived without money for 12 years, and claims she has never felt so free. In the film ”Living Without Money,” we follow Heidemarie in her daily-life and learn about her life story and philosophy.
