Sólo por creer que tú puedes configurar el acceso a tu perfil no significa que no hayas cedido a Facebook el derecho de vender tus datos.

CIA spies on WikiLeaks for 'Pentagon murder cover-up' exposure?

Here's how things stand. The follies of the big banks have caused the ­steepest plunge in output since the second world war. The economy is showing signs of stabilisation, owing largely to emergency cuts in interest rates and taxpayers' billions being used to prop up a ­financial system on the brink of collapse. Unemployment is rising, and it is rising most rapidly for the blameless, not the wretched bankers.
Even before the recession began, incomes for those at the bottom of the pile were below the level of three years ago. The longer Labour has been in power the slower incomes have grown. Inequality is higher than under Thatcher. Child poverty has increased in the past three years and the public finances are shot to pieces.
According to the prime minister, we are now living in a different world. The crisis of neo-liberalism has ushered in a new age in which there is a new and more important role for the state.
That is true, but only up to a point. The state is rather keener on controlling the people than the markets.

Silenciosas y discretas, miles de cámaras vigilan nuestros movimientos cada día. Y estas máquinas que velan por nuestra seguridad, son también agentes que detentan contra nuestra intimidad. Para regular su uso, La Agència Catalana de Protecció de Dades ha presentado una instrucción que endurece las exigencias para la instalación de estas cámaras y fija las pautas de acuerdo con la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos. El texto establece que se debe informar sobre la existencia de las cámaras mediante carteles informativos y exige que las administraciones redacten una memoria que justifique su finalidad, las características técnicas y las formas de conservación de las imágenes. El documento señala también que la voz es un dato personal y que, por tanto, los carteles de señalización de videovigilancia deben especificar cuando se esté grabando la voz[vaya...eso no lo sabíamos!]. Hablamos con la directora de la APDCAT, Esther Mitjans (E.M.), y el asesor jurídico, encargado de redactar la normativa, Santiago Farré (S.F.)

Para empezar, ¿me podrían aclarar qué es un dato personal?
S.F.: Cualquier información sobre la vida de una persona. No sólo los más evidentes como nombre, apellido, dirección o teléfono, sino que también la imagen y la voz. [Primero te dicen que hacen nueva normativa para protejer tus datos, a la vez que re-definen 'dato personal'...y así, toda tu información se convierte en un solo metadato personal, de ahí al chip implantado o, por qué no? al código de barras.......1 9 8 4.]

¿La voz?
S.F.: Precisamente es el dato que menos se tiene en cuenta y, hasta ahora, la regulación de aquí no especificaba qué pautas había de seguir la captación[se dá por hecho!] de voz.

¿Cuál es el objetivo de la instrucción?
S.F.: Establecer cómo se debe aplicar la ley de protección de datos en videovigilancia. Hasta ahora sólo existía una normativa que, desde 1997, regulaba las cámaras policiales.[Porque quieren regular TODAS las camaritas...]

Black Bloc Provocateurs Set Strasbourg Hotel on Fire

[Agents provocateurs posing as anarchist 'Black Bloc', to demonize anti-NATO peaceful protests, Strasbourg]

“Protesters demonstrating against a NATO summit in Strasbourg set fire to a hotel in the city near the river Rhine on Saturday, AFP journalists witnessed.”

Described as “hardline,” the Black Bloc provocateurs, “armed with metal bars,” also wrecked a wrecked a chapel, a pharmacy, an empty police post and other buildings at the French end of the Europe bridge connecting Strasbourg with Germany, according to AFP.

In order to demonize the anti-NATO protests as the work of violent “anarchists” (agents provocateurs), the New York Times described participants as “a mix of anti-globalization and anti-military activists (who) set a hotel and border post on fire, while riot police used tear gas to keep them back.”

Sky News (owned by Rupert Murdoch) reports: “Some of the protesters — throwing rocks — tried to storm a massive police blockade at the Pont d’Anvers bridge, and were driven back by water cannon, tear gas, flash bombs and rubber bullets.”

The BBC filed a video report highlighting the staged violence.

Police used the staged violence as an excuse to arrest demonstrators. “Police later detained dozens of demonstrators, lying them face down on the ground before hauling them away,” Sky News reports elsewhere. “Journalists were stopped by police from approaching the campsite area… The campsite had been set up to house demonstrators during the two-day talks.”

As noted in the video here, the legitimate anti-NATO protesters are determined to use non-violent civil disobedience to block the summit. In order to provide an excuse to use batons and rubber bullets against them, agents provocateurs masquerading as Black Bloc anarchists have been dispatched with instructions to burn down hotels and vandalize churches.

Earlier in the week, “anarchist” agents provocateurs were dispatched during the G20 with orders to smashed up the Royal Bank of Scotland. The corporate media used images of this vandalism to demonize non-violent demonstrators.

“The British authorities seemed to have little problem with allowing a group of violent black bloc anarchists to smash up the RBS building while provoking police yesterday, despite the group announcing their target in advance, yet a legitimate anti-poverty organization has had its ‘accreditation’ to protest at the G20 removed on the orders of Downing Street,” wrote Paul Joseph Watson on April 2. The authorities “knew that the building was a prime target, and yet it was the only one in the street not boarded up. A cafe across the street was boarded up and yet the RBS building was left completely vulnerable to attack.”

The new program known as The Channel Project is being run by the UK's Association of Chief Police Officers and hopes to target children with traits which may indicate an attraction to "extreme" views and a susceptibility to being groomed by "radicalisers" in the future.

The technology is no longer science fiction. A team of neuroscientists has developed technology that allows them to look deep inside a person's brain and read their intentions before they act.

During tests, researchers were able to successfully predict the intentions of multiple subjects with 70% accuracy by scanning their brains using a technique called functional magnetic imaging resonance.

The study revealed signatures of activity in a small part of the brain called the medial prefrontal cortex that changed when a person took a choice to do something before carrying out the action.

The researchers are already devising ways of deducing what patterns are associated with different thoughts.

Europeans seek to organize space junk

DARMSTADT, Germany — Researchers concerned about an increasing amount of debris orbiting the earth are calling for the active removal of space junk, saying it will ensure a safe environment around the planet.

More than 300 scientists and other experts who met for four days at the European Space Agency said Thursday that sharing information is a crucial first step in preventing collisions and predicting with more accuracy where derelict satellites may fall to earth.

"We need to share more data," said Thomas Schildknecht of the Aeronautical Institute of the University of Bern. "We consider this the most important and challenging part for the immediate future."

Various international agencies track the refuse in space. The U.S. Strategic Command, which monitors space debris, keeps track of 13,943 orbiting objects 4 inches (10 centimeters) or larger orbiting the earth, and there are thousands more piece that that are even smaller.

But Heiner Klinkrad, of ESA, emphasized that, in the long term, the removal of derelict satellites and other unused spacecraft was essential if collisions are to be prevented.

Facebook users unwittingly revealing personal information thanks to way privacy settings work

Millions of Facebook users could be unwittingly giving away personal information because of the way in which the social networking website's privacy settings work, researchers said this week.

In a study presented to a conference in Nuremberg, a team from the University of Cambridge's computer laboratory showed how Facebook public profiles could be used to find out personal information despite appearing to contain only a few details.

The researchers used a computer programme to sift through tens of thousands of public profiles – visible to internet search engines such as Google – in order to build detailed maps of people's relationships.

In the paper, called Eight Friends Are Enough, the Cambridge team pointed out that it was possible to reconstruct somebody's friends list – which Facebook calls the "social graph" – in a way that could allow marketers, governments and even criminals to understand the private relationships between different people.

The government is backing a project to install a "communication box" in new cars to track the whereabouts of drivers anywhere in Europe, the Guardian can reveal.

Under the proposals, vehicles will emit a constant "heartbeat" revealing their location, speed and direction of travel. The EU officials behind the plan believe it will significantly reduce road accidents, congestion and carbon emissions. A consortium of manufacturers has indicated that the router device could be installed in all new cars as early as 2013.

However, privacy campaigners warned last night that a European-wide car tracking system would create a system of almost total road surveillance

Details of the Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure Systems (CVIS) project, a £36m EU initiative backed by car manufacturers and the telecoms industry, will be unveiled this year.

But the Guardian has been given unpublished documents detailing the proposed uses for the system. They confirm that it could have profound implications for privacy, enabling cars to be tracked to within a metre - more accurate than current satellite navigation technologies.
